On my easel: “Spring in Seoul” (finished in March 2019) is about memories of a spring in Seoul and South Korea. The painted stairs with a young Chinese tourist girl posing as a Korean noble woman were real. I took a picture of the scene. Young girls liked to dress in various themed outfits and walked around the city in small groups. The pine trees grew in magical forests. My painting is about the juxtaposition of several realities when they create a surrealistic landscape that whispers about the emotions of a different land.
